Theatre Students Present "Peer Gynt"

Waldorf College Theatre students will present Henrik Ibsen’s “Peer Gynt,” April 7 – 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Smith Theatre. Tickets may be reserved by emailing theatre@waldorf.edu or calling the Waldorf College Theatre Box Office at 641-585-8585. Prices are $8 for general admission, $6 for senior citizens and $2 for Waldorf students.

In this Norwegian tale, Peer Gynt is a selfish and imaginative young man who disregards the community identity of rural Norway and leaves to shape a new identity in his own head. Ibsen’s play brings the audience along on the adventures Peer experiences throughout his life including a journey through a troll-inhabited mountain, along the vast Moroccan desert, Cairo, and upon a ship at sea, finally bringing him back to reality and the woman he loves as he discovers what it is to be one’s self.
